Identifier to flag when clients have passed away

At present there is no mechanism to flag when a client has passed away. In the Martial Status field there is a current status if "Widowed", but there is no mechanism to indicate that a client has passed away. Is there the possibility of either adding in a category to include "Deceased" or can we incorporate a separate field on the contact page to show that the client has passed away?
