I would like to propose having a email link for individual contacts so that when we are emailing, we can link it to their contact card and we have a trail of evidence that way.
Then when there is a deal, you can specifically link it to the deal.
For example, when a existing client wants to discuss potential new lending & it is not clear whether it will become a deal, it would be good to link the email discussion to their profile for easy find of the conversation.
